On January 29, the Embassy of Italy in Seoul expressed its intention to join and contribute to raising public awareness of air pollution and climate change issues in the Republic of Korea. The Embassy of Italy has become the fifth participating organization of the Blue Skies and NetZero 2050 Campaign. On December 12, 2019, the embassies of Denmark, EU, France and the UK in the Republic of Korea agreed to join the civil society campaign.Italy is taking steps forward when it comes to climate change. Italy and the United Kingdom will take over the reins as the next COP President and are joint hosts of the 2020 COP26 talks on the climate crisis. The COP26 climate change conference will be held in Glasgow in November 2020. The pre-COP will take place in Milan, Italy.Italy is taking a lead in promoting the use of cleaner energy, a path to green and sustainable economic growth and a transition to a more resilient economy supported by green financial systems.
